I went shopping yesterday for like the first time in…ages. I’m talking March here, people. Ok that’s kind of an exaggeration, since I have been shopping for work clothes once or twice in there, but I haven’t bought anything for myself in for. ever. Unless you count flowers or French bread at the farmers market, which I don’t.

Here’s the thing: since when is Fall coming? There are absolutely no summer clothes in sight anymore, and I’m getting a little panicked here because I feel like my summer has completely snuck past me. How did 15 weeks past THAT fast? How in can it possibly be cardigan weather already? And how in the world am I leaving two weeks from tomorrow for DC??!!

I am a mess of excitement, sadness, and general amazement. This summer has been a doozy.

And even though Hobby Lobby has somehow convinced itself it’s nearly Christmas (I’m actually not kidding. We’re talking full on bypass of Halloween and Thanksgiving here), I’m getting kind of ready to celebrate my favorite season. The colors, the crisp air, the clothes. Oh, the clothes. Cashmere and knits and jewel tones….oh my. Yes.

We’re gonna start hardcore celebrating over here, and to kick it off, let me introduce you to one of the coolest shoe lines I have ever seen. Ladies and gentlemen, Loly in the Sky, the cutest, most unique, and most affordable fall transition flat you have ever seen.

You’re welcome.

Here’s a confession: under normal circumstances, I would apologize for my lack of blogging dedication and try to make up some excuse that would get you to forgive me easier and not care about my absence, but here’s the thing. It’s finals week, and I’m really not that sorry!

It’s true. I’m bad to the bone.

But most of you have been through college and know what I’m talking about, and are probably getting flashbacks to the endless hours in coffee shops, excessive study breaks, and attpmpts to cra your head full with as much information as possible in a 10 minute period.

Here’s another confession: I kind of love it.

And clothes. Look at these clothes. I absolutely have to focus on saving money right now but oh my stars and stripes. If only.

Have a lovely weekend! And if you’re up against finals next week: good luck (not that you need it, I’m sure).

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your weekends were all fantastic.

Mine was filled with work, Lost, parties, family dinner, long talks with friends, and racing thoughts. I’m trying to decide what to do with my summer, especially after today’s chapel.  And given the speed of my racing brain without a decision to make, I haven’t been able to quiet my thoughts in a while. Here’s what I hate: decisions.

In other news, my mother bested me in grammar (no surprise), I rocked a New Testament test, I finally get to go shopping this weekend, I get these killer rings, this hilarious print (maybe I should find something other than grammar to obsess over?), and this beautiful ring, I’m loving the newest Matchbook magazine, this blog, and would like these cupcakes to go and charge it please (Oh, Eloise, you are literally my favorite).

Aaand, since today was Monday dress day, one of my more favorite kinds of days, in honor of dressing up I thought I’d share these awesome shots from Troubador. So lovely, especially the random pine tree chillin by the backdrop. All in the details, right?

Happy Monday, friends!

It’s so good to be back.

I feel so full. Being surrounded by my girls, midnight food runs, cart races in Target, birthday parties, Chicago trips, BigSibs, laser bowling, jam sesh, apartment room, drag racing…and it’s only been two days. Do I seriously have to graduate someday?

I promise I’ll calm down enough tomorrow to actually comment on something meaningful, but I can’t concentrate enough right now to settle my thoughts. So enjoy these incredibly comfy-looking and amazing shirts from Local Knit (This is atually kinda awesome, they go around to local businesses on the East Coast and create t-shirts for them, so when you buy a shirt you’re kind of buying a slice of community at the same time). Life? It’s lookin pretty good right now.

Weekend Review:

1) Met up with some of my excellent friends from school who came back early for leadership council. I can't even tell you how refreshing it was to finally see them again! Living in the college town of the school I attend is so. hard. in the summer, when all of my friends are scattered around the country. One week left until every night is like last night. Yes!
2) Made these cookies with a couple of special tweaks. If you know what's good for you, you will follow suit. Actually, there's a good possibility that you might die of ecstasy after eating them, so I guess it's your call. Choose wisely, my friends.
3) Paper Source grand opening in Oak Brook...need I say more? I have big plans for the coming months, big plans!
4) Started designing a web site for student government. I'm so excited about this! Once it's finished, you will get to see my handiwork. And maybe you'll even appreciate it, if you live in the greater Chicago area. If you're from out of state...maybe you'll appreciate the graphics?
5) Went shopping for the first time in three months. Inspired by designers like Lauren Moffat...is it possible that a collection can be modern and retro at the same time? I seriously cannot wait for fall so I can wear all this goodness!

I hope you had happy Mondays, friends!
